A workshop on the effective use of the World Intellectual Property Organization's (WIPO) global services will be held in Shanghai on Dec 14, according to the WIPO China Office.

Organized by the WIPO China Office and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, the training course aims to help enterprises understand WIPO and its IP services, and use the international treaties administered by WIPO for international registration and protection of IP rights.

The one-day event will be held at the Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel, and will feature lectures by experts from the WIPO China Office and the China National Intellectual Property Administration on the use and practice of WIPO's global services.

The topics to be covered include WIPO's arbitration and mediation services, and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) international application process.

The training course is open to enterprises, intellectual property service agencies, research institutions and universities in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region.

As parking is not convenient at the venue, participants are advised to use public transportation. The venue is within walking distance from Yingchun Road Station on Metro Line 18 and Middle Yanggao Road Station on Metro Line 9.
