The director of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, or CNIPA – Shen Changyu – took a team with him to visit the Shanghai Intellectual Property Center and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) on Nov 18, to investigate intellectual property protection work.

In the Shanghai Intellectual Property Center, he stressed the purpose of establishing the center was to build a more efficient one-stop service platform for intellectual property rights (IPR) – for integrating fast pre-trials, fast rights confirmations and fast rights protection.

Shen urged the center's staff to actively participate in the development of a strong IPR sector and make Shanghai a hub for international IPR protection.

He said that CNIPA would continue to care for and support the work of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Center.

On his visit to CSSC, Shen lauded the company's achievements in the creation, protection, application and management of IPR.

He said that as a pioneer in China's maritime sci-tech innovation, CSSC had made remarkable achievements in the development of its science and technology capacity and IP system.

Shen added that CNIPA attached great importance to improving the IPR of enterprises and strengthening their ability to respond to overseas risks and challenges – to provide a good IPR environment for the development of various enterprises.
