Perfetti Van Melle Confectionery (China) Co Ltd presented a banner to the Minhang District Intellectual Property Administration on Sept 15, thanking the administration for its support and efficient services in intellectual property (IP) protection and business environment improvement.
As a long-standing Minhang-based company, Perfetti Van Melle China owns well-known brands including Alpenliebe and Mentos and places a strong emphasis on IP protection. At a recent meeting, the company's head of legal affairs introduced its operations and IP protection efforts in China, highlighting the challenges faced in daily business and cross-regional rights protection.
The Minhang administration said it would uphold equal protection for all market entities and provide foreign-invested companies with fair and nondiscriminatory IP protection to strengthen their confidence in operating in China. It will improve assistance mechanisms and introduce more targeted services to reduce the costs and burdens of rights protection.
Regarding cross-regional infringement, the administration said it would strengthen coordination and follow-up measures, providing companies with more practical channels for rights protection and legal support.
The administration also pledged to leverage its functional strengths and respond to the needs of innovation-driven businesses with more proactive and targeted services, helping safeguard the high-quality development of IP in Minhang.
