A delegation from the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) visited Indonesia's Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) under the Ministry of Law on June 29, exchanging views on intellectual property (IP) management and innovation practices.

Led by Yu Chen, deputy director-general of SIPA, the delegation held talks with Yasmon, director of Cooperation, Empowerment and Education at DGIP. The two sides discussed IP protection and utilization.
The Indonesian side introduced its IP management system and innovation practices within the framework of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening IP protection, commercialization, and cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation visited the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia Science and Technology Park, and the Ministry of Creative Economy to learn about technology transfer and industry-academia collaboration.
The delegation also visited the Jakarta Overseas IP Service Station for Shanghai Enterprises to discuss ways to improve Shanghai's overseas IP service network. It met with Shanghai companies operating in Indonesia to understand and address their IP needs.
Officials from SIPA's Policy and Regulation Division, Strategic Planning Division, and International Cooperation and Exchange Division participated in the activities.
