A delegation from the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) visited Thailand's Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) on July 2, strengthening exchanges on intellectual property (IP) protection, dispute resolution and support for businesses expanding overseas.

Led by Yu Chen, deputy director-general of SIPA, the delegation held talks with Auramon Supthaweethum, director-general of Thailand's DIP, as well as officials and experts. They exchanged views on IP systems, online infringement crackdowns, and overseas enforcement.
The Thai side introduced its IP protection practices, including dispute settlement mechanisms, combating counterfeits on e-commerce platforms, and overseas IP law enforcement. Both sides discussed enhancing protection for Thai companies in Shanghai and Shanghai companies operating in Thailand.
During the visit, the delegation also met with the Thai-Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council to discuss Southeast Asian industrial ecosystems and services for companies going global. It visited Chulalongkorn University Innovation Hub to learn about technology transfer.
In Bangkok, the delegation visited Hansun Law Office (Thailand) Company Limited to exchange views on IP legal services for overseas markets before meeting with executives at the headquarters of Charoen Pokphand Group to gain a deeper understanding of the intellectual property needs of foreign enterprises.
The visit was joined by officials from SIPA's Policy and Regulation Division, Strategic Planning Division and International Cooperation and Exchange Division, among others.
