The Intellectual Property Administration of Shanghai's Jing'an district visited CASCO Signal Ltd to learn about its progress and needs, discuss the development of the smart transportation information and control industry intellectual property operations center, and improve the business environment.
CASCO introduced its patent navigation project for the intelligent control industry and reported on the center's progress. It is the only national-level IP operations center in China's rail transit control sector and one of only four such centers in Shanghai.
The company also highlighted its Patent Cooperation Treaty applications and overseas IP planning. Guided by market demand, it has expanded its patent layouts along the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as in Europe and the United States.
Supported by the district, CASCO will concentrate on patent collaboration, industry-university-research partnerships, and patent commercialization. Its aim is to develop a replicable and scalable "Jing'an model" for national industrial IP activities, using Jing'an's strengths as a foundation.
The two sides also exchanged views on center construction, patent pool development, and industrial chain coordination. They reached a consensus on deepening government-enterprise cooperation to support innovation and deliver practical IP services in the district.
The district stated that it will continue optimizing the business environment through targeted services, support CASCO as a "chain master" leading enterprise, and help the center operate at a higher level.
CASCO attaches great importance to international patent protection, using IP to support technology development, overseas expansion, and stronger industrial competitiveness both at home and abroad, according to the district's official report.
