Shanghai issued its first brain-computer interface data product intellectual property (IP) registration certificate in Minhang district on June 25, marking a milestone in data asset protection for the city's emerging neurotechnology industry.
The certificate was granted to Ainaoji (Shanghai) Technology Co Ltd, located in the Sinan Brain-Computer Interface Intelligent Super Incubator. The registered data product is the "brain-computer interface industry supply chain and technology achievement transformation intelligent agent model."
The company specializes in AI-powered intelligent agent platforms for the brain-computer interface sector, providing enterprises, universities, and hospitals with services including supply chain analysis, R&D support, and data-driven industrial applications.
Its core data assets include enterprise profiles, patent databases, product information, and supply chain knowledge graphs. The model integrates data from nearly 90 percent of China's brain-computer interface companies and encompasses 27 structured dimensions.
With support from Minhang district IP and data authorities, the incubator has established a green channel for data IP registration. Eight projects, primarily in the brain-computer interface field, are currently under review.
As of May 2026, Minhang had received 63 applications for data product IP registration and issued 39 certificates. The initiative supports Shanghai's efforts to advance data assetization and promote the high-quality development of the brain-computer interface industry.
