Jing'an launches beauty IP protection alliance and IPR assistance station

ensipa.cn|Updated: February 4, 2026

Shanghai's Jing'an district launched the Jing'an Beauty Intellectual Property Protection Alliance and inaugurated an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Assistance Station to strengthen IP protection and support the local cosmetics industry.

The initiative unites key stakeholders to enhance cooperation and provide practical support. Member units received plaques for the Alliance, which builds a comprehensive IP protection framework and deepens coordination between administrative enforcement and criminal justice.

Under signed coordination agreements, the alliance will integrate economic investigation forces from the Jing'an Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau with administrative enforcement teams. This will enhance referral of clues, joint enforcement, and coordinated action against counterfeiting, imitation, and other IP violations.

The newly inaugurated IPR Assistance Station will offer one-stop services, including IP consultation, dispute mediation, risk alerts, and training. Located within the industry hub, it will extend support to small and grassroots firms to reduce enforcement costs and strengthen their capability to respond to IP risks.

Experts from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) provided industry-specific case studies and practical training on combating brand imitation and trend-riding infringements, streamlining enforcement channels, and improving overseas early-warning systems.

The launch of the alliance and assistance station underscores Jing'an's commitment to bolstering legal protection, enhancing IP services, and supporting the sustainable development of the cosmetics sector in a more predictable, rule-based business environment.
