On Nov 6, the 2025 Intellectual Property Protection and Enterprise International Development Conference & "Chains and Enterprises" Patent Industrialization Project Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai as a supporting event of the 8th China International Import Expo.
Rui Wenbiao, director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, participated in the conference and provided remarks.
He characterized the "Chains and Enterprises" patent-industrialization project as a vital initiative to improve efficiency throughout the entire supply chain across key industries, emphasizing the need for efforts to achieve tangible results.
The event brought together officials, experts, and business leaders to explore emerging trends in intellectual property protection and the globalization of Chinese companies. Rui emphasized the need to promote high-quality IP creation, efficient utilization, strong protection, and expanded international cooperation to support innovation-driven growth.
The conference also announced a range of new outcomes, partnerships, and advancements. Twenty model cases from the "Chains and Enterprises" initiative were presented, highlighting effective approaches to patent industrialization and offering transferable models for wider use.

Local IP authorities in Shanghai, Shaanxi, and Zhejiang provinces signed cooperation agreements with the China Patent Protection Association. In addition, upgraded IP service platforms and new group standards were announced to advance patent commercialization and foster innovation across key industries.
