The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on Nov 5, bringing together participants from 138 countries and regions, including 123 Belt and Road partners and nearly 290 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders.
These enterprises introduced more than 460 new products, technologies, and services across sectors such as artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon development, and low-altitude economy.
Over 400 experts, officials, and business representatives gathered at the Hongqiao Forum to discuss trade security, multilateralism, global cooperation, and intellectual property protection.
Through the CIIE, China continues to advance trade and investment facilitation, enhance intellectual property (IP) protection, and foster an open, transparent, and predictable business climate. The expo has developed into a worldwide platform for innovation and cooperation, where displays evolve into products, and exhibitors become sustained investors in the Chinese market.
Over the past eight years, multinational enterprises like Roche, Tesla, Schneider Electric, and AMD have expanded their operations in China. Boosted by enhanced patent protections and quicker regulatory procedures, these companies have strengthened their partnerships with Chinese firms, driving growth in high-tech and green industries.
China's IP environment, with satisfaction scores exceeding 81 points among foreign and joint-venture companies, has become a key attraction for global investment.
This year's CIIE showcases China's dedication to openness and innovation, highlighting advancements from next-generation AI manufacturing to renewable energy solutions — transforming market access and technological progress into shared global development opportunities.
