Shanghai recently added two new national intellectual property (IP) public service outlets: SPIC GUOHE (Shanghai) Intellectual Property Service Co and Shanghai's Minhang District Intellectual Property Protection Association, as announced by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
These outlets deliver essential IP services to innovators, entrepreneurs, and the public. They provide access to patents, trademarks, and geographical indications, as well as consultations, free training, and policy guidance, all hosted by universities, research institutes, and industry organizations.
Shanghai now has 11 Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs), seven university-based national IP information service centers, 10 national IP information public service outlets, and 27 municipal-level IP service outlets across the city, creating a robust IP support network.
SPIC GUOHE (Shanghai) Intellectual Property Service, founded in September 2021, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute. It is the nation's first full-spectrum IP service provider dedicated to nuclear energy.
The company operates a 1,300-square-meter incubator in Shanghai's Xuhui district, supporting around 20 innovative teams. It leverages AI and big data to deliver intelligent IP search and analysis, aiming to speed up nuclear technology innovation and commercialization.
Founded in 2009, the Minhang District Intellectual Property Protection Association is a nonprofit AAA-level social organization. It connects top IP institutions and professionals, providing lectures, services, and networking opportunities to strengthen IP creation, management, and commercialization.
