As the Director of the Madrid Operations Division, Madrid Registry, Brands and Designs Sector, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. Chen assumed the current position in January 2019 and is responsible for managing operations of international registration of trademarks under the Madrid System.
At the same time, he acts as a member of WIPO's task forces and projects related to artificial intelligence, digital transformation, customer experience, staff members learning and development etc. He joined the WIPO in 2015 and served as Director of WIPO Office in China untill 2019.
Before this, he served in the diplomatic service of China. He has worked on various projects of the United Nations and served as a member of the Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group of the UN secretary-general on internet governance during 2014 and 2015.
