On Oct 19, Shanghai hosted a special event of the 22nd Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum on "AI x IP- Intellectual Property Governance and Innovation Eco-system Construction in the Era of AI", assembling experts to discuss AI-era IP governance and innovation.
Wei Lan, deputy director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), delivered remarks, while Fan Zheng, president of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Services Industry Association, chaired the opening and highlighted Shanghai's AI-era intellectual property (IP) approach.

Keynote speakers from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center, WIPO Intellectual Property and Frontier Technologies Division, GWA Law Firm, and Shanghai Intellectual Property Court shared insights on AI tools, dispute resolution, and global IP practices.
Experts from Huawei Technologies Co, King & Wood Mallesons, the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, and Volcano Engine discussed AI-enabled IP services, copyright registration for AI-generated content, and risk control measures.

At a roundtable, representatives from the China-Europe IP Promotion Center at Shanghai University of Applied Sciences and UNISOC Shanghai Technologies Co discussed the theme "Innovation in IP Services in the Era of AI".
The event, organized by SIPA and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Services Industry Association, attracted over 200 participants from universities, research institutes, hospitals, innovative firms, and IP service organizations.
