The delegation of Interpat, a global non-profit for biopharma intellectual property (IP) protection, visited Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration on Oct 15 to deepen cooperation on IP protection. Both sides discussed building a world-class business environment and fostering international pharmaceutical innovation.

During the meeting, Yu Chen, deputy director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, outlined the city's IP administrative protection policies and highlighted efforts to create a first-class investment climate for foreign enterprises.
Yu expressed a desire for enhanced cooperation with Interpat and extended an invitation to its members to share suggestions on IP work in Shanghai.
Zhao Hongwei, vice-chairman of the Songjiang District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presented the district's IP initiatives and welcomed international pharmaceutical companies to invest in Songjiang district.
John Conway, vice-president of Interpat, praised Shanghai's strong business environment and thanked the local IP authority for its support. Andrew Jenner, director-general of the organization, shared the latest developments and expressed hope for closer collaboration.
The two sides exchanged perspectives on administrative adjudication and other business-related topics. Representatives from member companies in China and officials from related departments in Songjiang district and Shanghai attended the meeting.
