Bian Xin, president of pharma giant Roche Pharmaceuticals China, visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration or SIPA on July 17 for a meeting aimed at strengthening ties in IP protection.
Hosted by SIPA Director-General Rui Wenbiao, with Deputy Director-General Yu Chen present, the meeting focused on enhancing IP frameworks in the biopharmaceuticals sector.
Rui outlined Shanghai's recent initiatives to improve its IP protection systems — emphasizing the city's goal to create a world-class environment for both domestic and international businesses. Later, he invited Roche to offer feedback on the city's IP efforts.
For her part, Bian praised Shanghai's business environment and thanked SIPA for its support for foreign enterprises. She also talked about Roche's progress and IP strategies in China.
The meeting included key representatives from Roche and SIPA, representing a further step in fostering international collaboration and advancing IP protection in Shanghai's biopharma sector.
