Shanghai's data product IP registration data unveiled at tech fair

The 11th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) kicked off on June 11, featuring the "Shanghai Data Product Intellectual Property Registration" booth.

The booth showcased the latest registration data and the first set of exemplary cases of data product intellectual property registration in Shanghai, drawing significant interest from both exhibitors and professionals.

The data showed that the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration has handled registrations from 23 provinces and cities, including important places like Beijing, Guangdong, and Zhejiang. These registrations focus on the city's three leading industries, with artificial intelligence products making up 67 percent and biopharmaceuticals 13 percent.

The commercialization of data product intellectual property is accelerating. So far, 249 data products have been licensed, generating about 2.12 billion yuan ($295.27 million) in revenue.

Additionally, 164 products have been listed for trading, generating a total of approximately 3.37 billion yuan in transactions. Another 242 products have produced around 4.01 billion yuan in revenue, collectively creating nearly 9.5 billion yuan in economic value. Furthermore, 11 companies have secured pledge financing for their data product IPs, with loans exceeding 284 million yuan.
