SIPA engages in collaborative exchange with Garrett

A delegation led by Jerome Maironi, senior-vice president and general counsel of Swiss company Garrett, recently paid a visit to the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA).

Yu Chen, deputy director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, welcomed the delegation before the two parties engaged in a productive working exchange meeting.

During the meeting, Yu provided an overview of SIPA's recent initiatives, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing administrative protection of intellectual property (IP), refining the IP protection framework, and fostering a leading IP protection and development environment for both Chinese and foreign enterprises operating in Shanghai. He extended an invitation to Garrett to share any suggestions regarding Shanghai's IP initiatives.

Maironi shared insights into Garrett's IP strategies and business operations in China, commending Shanghai's exceptional business environment. He expressed gratitude to SIPA for the policy support and assurances extended to foreign-invested enterprises in the city.

The discussions between the two parties also revolved around topics of mutual interest, such as enterprise IP protection and patent pre-examination services, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering a conducive environment for innovation and IP rights protection.
