The Shanghai Intellectual Property Protection Center (Shanghai Intellectual Property Development Research Center) is a public institution directly under the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration. Its main functions include conducting rapid collaborative protection of intellectual property in strategic emerging industries, such as new materials and energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as in the field of design patents, as approved by China National Intellectual Property Administration. Additionally, the center is involved in research on Shanghai's intellectual property strategy and public policy.
