Forum calls for strengthening of IP protection to boost innovation in G60 Valley

With the theme "Strengthening the Legal Guarantee of Intellectual Property to Serve the Development of New Quality Productive Forces", the fourth Intellectual Property Forum of Yangtze River Delta G60 Science and Technology Innovation Valley took place in Songjiang district, Shanghai, on Dec 6.

As a sub-forum of the 21st Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum, it featured keynote speeches and discussions on IP protection and utilization.

In his speech at the sub-forum, Rui Wenbiao, director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, emphasized Shanghai's dedication to enhancing IP-related work, seeking to support innovation and productivity. He highlighted the dual role of IP in providing technological and institutional support and called for further institutional innovation and improved protection systems.

Guo Weilu, Party secretary of East China University of Political Science and Law, stressed the university's commitment to serving national strategies and optimizing legal disciplines to support Shanghai's goal of becoming a beacon of IP protection.

Wang Jing, head of Songjiang district, highlighted Songjiang's role in the G60 Valley and the district's commitment to high-quality IP creation, protection, and services.

The event also saw the unveiling of the Songjiang Branch of the Shanghai IP Protection Center and the awarding of plaques to key IP protection enterprises in Songjiang.
