In the digital era, the success and development of artificial intelligence (AI) depends on high-quality training data. A strong IP ecosystem enhances AI innovation but poses real-world challenges.
WIPO's previous Generative AI Dialogues, attended by over 5,000 participants from 162 countries, set the stage for an upcoming conference in mid-March next year. In January, WIPO is set to release an AI invention policy tool kit to aid small and medium-sized enterprises in adopting generative AI tools, with more practical guidelines and tool kits on the horizon. WIPO is actively collaborating with innovators, including 22 SMEs from eight Arab countries, to help them establish intellectual property strategies for AI. Furthermore, WIPO and national intellectual property offices are continually exploring and implementing new IP management and enforcement tools to better assist innovators in harnessing AI technologies.
