Since the building of the demonstration zone in 2021, Pudong New Area has worked closely with local departments, focusing on integrating innovative protection measures, smart regulation, and enhancing cultural tourism to drive sustainable growth.
The strategy focuses on four main goals: developing the "prosperous peach", cultivating the "digital peach", promoting the "ecological peach", and fostering the "cultural peach". These initiatives aim to ensure the long-term sustainability of the peach industry.
A comprehensive protection system has been implemented across the entire product lifecycle, bringing improved economic, social, ecological, and brand benefits for Nanhui honey peaches, elevating them to a premium product.
Pudong's efforts align with China's broader goal of rural vitalization. By leveraging geographical indication protection, the region aims to enhance rural economic growth and the vitality of agricultural industries.
Looking ahead, Pudong New Area will continue to strengthen protection measures and raise awareness, using the National Geographical Indication Protection Demonstration Zone as a model to integrate high-quality growth and intellectual property, contributing to rural vitalization.
