Shanghai established the Private Enterprises Intellectual Property Protection Committee on July 30 — in a bid to strengthen intellectual property or IP protection and to promote the high-quality development of private enterprises.
The event was organized by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration also introduced policies to enhance IP protection and support innovation in private enterprises.
The committee is seen as a key step towards implementing the law to promote the development of the non-public economy and to improve the legal environment for private businesses.
It was initiated in order to offer training, consultation and rights protection to the enterprises.
Over 100 representatives from district federations, municipal chambers of commerce and private companies participated in the event.
