In a recent initiative to bolster intellectual property (IP) rights protection for foreign enterprises, the Shanghai IP Protection Center conducted a meeting with the Rights Protection Assistance Station of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association.
This meeting, attended by the legal director of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association, the chief legal counsel for Greater China at Boston Scientific, and a senior patent advisor from Brose China, focused on the challenges faced by foreign companies in safeguarding their IP rights in China.
During the session, representatives from the companies detailed the difficulties encountered in the IP protection process, ranging from trademark registration issues to patent enforcement challenges.
Experts from the Rights Protection Assistance Station and leaders from the IP Protection Center provided on-the-spot solutions and advice regarding trademark registration, patent enforcement, and understanding the nuances of China's IP policies.
The Shanghai IP Protection Center aims to use insights from the meeting to enhance communication and collaboration with the Rights Protection Assistance Station so as to enhance support for foreign enterprises seeking to protect their IP rights.
