Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Center earns top marks in TISC evaluation

The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) recently concluded their operational evaluation of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs), which have been operating for the past three years.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Center (SSIP) and the Shanghai Maritime University successfully cleared the assessment, with SSIP recognized for its excellence.

Per the agreement between the CNIPA and WIPO, TISCs are evaluated every three years to determine whether they can continue operating.

As a pivotal member of the TISC network and a distinguished national patent service entity, SSIP has consistently offered comprehensive and diverse intellectual property services to governmental bodies and innovative entities. By leveraging IP information as a crucial public service node, SSIP, under the direct governance of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, provides IP services involving information retrieval, statistical analysis, in-depth patent examination, and patent navigation.

In recent years, the center has been continuously enhancing its infrastructure and platforms to bolster its IP information service capabilities, fostering productivity and strengthening the regional economic innovation landscape.

Known as the "cradle of senior shipping talent", the Shanghai Maritime University provides extensive services related to intellectual property publicity and training, patent technology monitoring, patent analysis and navigation, patent novelty searches, and strategic research to both government and industry.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting institutions like SSIP in spearheading IP information public services, advancing the quality and efficiency of the standardized IP service system, and delivering professional, high-quality services to entities at the forefront of innovation.
