Shanghai's Putuo district inaugurated the Shanghai Intellectual Property Protection Center Putuo Branch and the Shanghai Putuo District Intellectual Property Public Service Center on Nov 6.
The new centers offer "one-stop" IP protection and services to help innovators reduce operational costs and enhance research and development, innovation protection, and market competitiveness.
They will integrate resources and enhance efficiency by establishing a full-process work model that includes patent navigation, pre-examination support, rapid rights protection, circuit trials, and patent operations.
During the launch ceremony, Rui Wenbiao, director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, congratulated Putuo on the successful launch of the two centers. He called for deepening reforms to optimize the IP governance system, encouraging Putuo to leverage its geographical and industrial advantages to foster regional economic and social development through innovative IP strategies.
Xiao Wengao, head of Putuo district, pledged to enhance IP protection and dispute resolution mechanisms, and build a robust public service system to maximize the value of intellectual property.
To support these efforts, Putuo District launched an IP information platform to provide services like patent trend monitoring and data analysis. Additionally, the district released the "Putuo District Intellectual Property Protection and Public Service Standards", the first of its kind in Shanghai, setting a precedent for district-level IP protocols. These initiatives aim to integrate IP with local industries, fostering a robust innovation ecosystem.
