The seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5-10. With over 150 companies returning for the seventh consecutive year and many companies participating for the first time, Mitsubishi Corporation among them, the event continues to expand its global "circle of friends".

In preparation, Shanghai has launched a 100-day intellectual property (IP) protection initiative focusing on strict, coordinated, and innovative measures. Recent inspections in Fengxian district have targeted counterfeit goods, resulting in the seizure of 63 bottles of suspected fake liquor and investigations into two merchants.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference Office is leading the initiative, aiming to strengthen the IP protection environment, judicial services, and law enforcement. Qingpu district has integrated services to offer comprehensive IP protection, including expedited patent examinations and trademark registrations.

Companies like Bayer and Siemens Healthineers, long-time participants in the CIIE, highlight the importance of China's improved IP protection and business environment. Bayer has showcased over 100 innovative products and maintains confidence in the fairness of China's IP litigation. Siemens Healthineers values China's commitment to creating a fair and open technological environment.

The CIIE serves as a global platform for innovation and cooperation, with Shanghai aiming to become an international hub for IP protection. This year's event promises new products, collaborations, and breakthroughs, reinforcing China's positive image in the global innovation market.
