The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) had successfully ensured the intellectual property (IP) protection for the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which concluded on Nov 10 in Shanghai.

The CIIE, the world's first import-themed national-level expo, has displayed more than 2,400 new products, technologies and services since 2018, with many making their global or Asian debuts.

SIPA, under the guidance of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, worked with the CIIE Bureau and other departments to set up the CIIE IPR Protection and Commercial Dispute Resolution Service Center, which offered professional, comprehensive, and convenient IP services for expo participants.

During the expo, SIPA sent 202 staff members to the expo site, where they inspected more than 1,000 exhibits, display boards and promotional materials. The staff also performed 45 IP consultations for domestic and foreign IP rights holders and exhibitors, and handed out more than 300 promotional materials. One case of suspected IP infringement was also dealt with.
