The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA, recently conducted a series of inspections of various institutions and businesses in Shanghai to ensure their smooth and orderly operations in IP-related fields.

Rui Wenbiao, director general of SIPA – based in East China's Shanghai city – visited the construction site of the municipal intellectual property protection center.

During his visit, he said the center would become a vital platform for the city's development of a comprehensive IP protection system, playing a key role in promoting regional economic development and the business environment.

Rui then carried out an inspection of a local business. He talked about the latest IP policy orientation and support projects and answered specific questions put by representatives of the company concerning the current strategy on trademark registrations, as well as assistance in IP rights and other aspects.

He said that moving forwards, SIPA would support more innovating local companies, to optimize their presence in global markets by enhancing their IP capacity.
