Progress has reportedly been made on the intellectual property, or IP front in the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of the Yangtze River Delta – a development corridor involving an alliance of nine cities along the area's G60 expressway – located in East China.

The First Intellectual Property Forum of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of the Yangtze River Delta was held in Shanghai city in East China on Oct 21.

The event was a sub-forum of the 8th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum – which took place on Oct 19-22.

Present at the sub-forum was Zhang Zhicheng, director general of the IP protection department at the China National Intellectual Property Administration, or CNIPA and Rui Wenbiao, director general of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration. At a ceremony, they unveiled a plaque for a new center for IP administrative protection to be located in the innovation valley.

It reportedly marked the establishment of the first cross-regional cooperation center for IP administrative protection in China.

The heads of the intellectual property administrations of the nine cities in the G60 S&T Innovation Valley jointly signed an agreement on their IP integrated development and cooperation. This is expected to promote mutual recognition of IP evidence and innovation in joint law enforcement systems in the cities.

The forum was co-organized by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, the East China University of Political Science and Law and the municipal administration of Songjiang district in Shanghai.
