The 2021 International IP Operation Forum of SINOIP – a sub-forum of the ongoing 18th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum – was held in Shanghai city in East China on Oct 20.

Yang Hui, deputy director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, addressed the gathering.

He said that in recent years Shanghai had successfully focused on building itself into an international IP protection highland. In the process, it had established a four-in-one IP operations service system – featuring platforms, institutions, capital and industry.

Yang noted that under its booming digital economy, Shanghai would further focus on innovation, continue to improve its IP operations service system and promote the comprehensive utilization efficiency of IP.

During the forum, a strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed between the State Intellectual Property International Operating (Shanghai) Platform and Zhangjiang Group.

The agreement is expected to give full play to the platform as important infrastructure for the construction of the Shanghai science and innovation center, as well as to promote the industrial upgrade of Zhangjiang Science City.

The platform also signed contracts with six key industrial parks and enterprises in Shanghai, aiming to promote the integration of IP operations and industrial development.

The sub-forum reportedly attracted more than 150 experts, academics and company representatives and 18,800 online participants.
