The top 10 benchmark cases of intellectual property protection in 2020 – in East China's megacity and financial capital Shanghai – were recently released by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, following recommendations from local government departments and expert reviews.
This year's top 10 covered such fields as patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets and Olympic symbols – involving civil, criminal and administrative law enforcement cases.
The cases reportedly all had a major social impact which showcased the city's strict IP protection protocols. The types of the cases were also new, reflecting the innovations being made by authorities in supervision and case-handling methods.
In addition, the cases are of great significance, setting precedents in the handling of similar cases.
