YRD intellectual property forum held in Shanghai

The 2021 Yangtze River Delta Intellectual Property Shanghai Forum, focusing on the comprehensive protection of IP high-quality development, was held in the city of Shanghai in East China on Jan 12, the organizers said.
The Yangtze River Delta region is becoming a hot spot for the international evolution of intellectual property, or IP, following the integrated development of the YRD region becoming a national strategy, according to officials.
The YRD is a triangle-shaped megalopolis – broadly made up of the areas in East China of Shanghai city, southern Jiangsu province and northern Zhejiang province.
Rui Wenbiao, director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech in which he explained that Shanghai has continued to strengthen its IP protection and agglomeration in recent years. The city is continuing to build an IP system that conforms to international standards, he added.
At the forum, individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of IP in the YRD region last year were honored.
Leading experts and scholars, IP chiefs of large businesses, top lawyers, prosecutors and administrative law enforcement officials engaged in discussions on IP protection.
